Special ingredients

I want to say how lucky we are to have a store like Cooperstown Natural Foods! I needed organic Meyer Lemons this week and thought to myself oh I'll probably never be able to find any around here, but lo and behold, Ellen & team had just received a shipment, and it's pure sunshine! Whenever I need a hard-to-find ingredient, whether it's rose water or oat flour or black tahini, I always find it there. I also appreciate that most of the produce is plastic package-free and I feel like as a small town, we're incredibly blessed to have this store. Not to mention the warmth and friendliness there.

Well Stocked

Cooperstown Natural Foods is well stocked with organic and local produce and an ever-widening array of new products that fit handily under the wellness umbrella. But to consider it merely a grocery store with an unusually fantastic selection would be overlooking what truly sets it apart. Dave and Ellen and their family treat you like one of their own. During both of my pregnancies, I was never once given the opportunity to carry my groceries to the car. And when my babies were little Ellen would firmly direct me to leave them right in front of her by the cash register while I did my shopping. They make shopping for groceries feel like coming home.

Welcoming & Friendly

I cannot stress enough how much I love this store. In fact, one reason I was attracted to the Cooperstown area was because this place existed. It made the transition from Brooklyn easier for me. Ellen, Dave and Robbie have made this not only a wonderful store, but are always welcoming and friendly. As a chef, I'm amazed at the diversity of foodstuffs I can choose from. The produce is always organic and top-notch. The condiment section is awesome, and the baking ingredients are phenomenal (so many different flour choices!). As my diet morphs and changes, I always find what I need.

Cooperstown Natural Foods has a wide selection of local and specialty ingredients; a rarity for a small rural town. Ellen is incredibly knowledgeable and the shop has a warm, welcoming family atmosphere. A great place for organic groceries or to pick up something special.
